Omanama residents recently gathered at the Inglewood Civic Centre to express their disapproval at potentially being chosen as a nuclear waste dump site. 150 residents fronted up to make it clear that they do not want a nuclear waste dump in their community.
Omanama is one of a range of locations being considered by the Federal Government as potential nuclear waste dump sites. Nuclear Free Queensland opposes any expansion of radioactive waste sites in Australia, and especially any contracting for the taking of overseas waste. Nuclear Free Queensland stands in solidarity with the people of Omanama.
